Bolzano and Surroundings: Guided tours just a step away from the city
Ritten
Hike on the Renon for connoisseurs and athletes. From Bolzano by Renon cable car to Soprabolzano. From here, take the small romantic train to the Stella stop. Now we walk comfortably for an hour along the Sigmund Freud trail to Collalbo station. From here, take the bus to Tann to save ourselves the steep section. From here, 20 minutes through the forest, past the wonderful Kneipp facility to the Gasthof Bad Siess. Here we are pampered with regional specialties and a breathtaking view of the Dolomites. After a long break, we continue to Maria Assunta and the earth pyramids. Impressive tower formations with boulders on top. Created and eroded by glacial moraine deposits. After this great spectacle, we walk to Collalbo, take the train to Soprabolzano where we close our loop. We take the cable car back to Bolzano. For the more sporty, the variant is as follows: From the cable car in Soprabolzano, we hike directly to Tann in 2 hours. The path leads us alternately along meadows, farms, and through forests with a slight uphill incline to Tann. The rest is as in the other tour.
Stoanerne Mandlen
From Bolzano via San Genesio to the Schermoos parking area, located on the ridge between Flaas and Mölten. The hike starts uphill over lush green alpine meadows. The inclines vary but are always manageable. After about 4.5 km, we reach the Möltner Kaser alpine hut, here we turn right and hike through a beautiful forest to Auener Joch and on to the Stoanerne Mandlen. The Stoanerne Mandlen have their own appeal. It is mystical when wisps of fog wind around the stone figures. The view is free over the entire Dolomite world as far as the Marmolada and to the east as far as the Ortler. From here, we walk straight down to the Möltner Kaser where traditional local dishes are served. Refreshed, the return path leads through spruce forest along a forest track, accompanied by alternating alpine meadows and light larch forests.
