Chestnuteating on the Oachner Höfeweg

We start from the Castle of Prösels near Völs am Schlern.

The Oachner Höfeweg leads us through an amazing cultural landscape to St. Kathrin.

On return we take the road n. 5 to the Schnaggencross and further to the Castle of Prösels.

There is a parking zone near the castle . From there we take the road n. 3 through woods in western direction.

After 20 min. and in front of the Wirtskeller we go to the right.

We pass several farms: Riefer, Flunger and Dosser, further Mitter- and Unterpsenner and finally Gmoaner in Underaicha. From here we enjoy a spectacular view trough the Tierser Valley to the Rosegarden.

The way goes in the eastern direction over the Valley of Tiers through cultural landscape.

By this way we pass the farms of Ausser- and Innerperskoller and finally we reach the Fronthof.

Here we will enjoy extraordinary traditional products like wine, Schlutzer, Knödel, meat, sweeties and chestnuts.

We will turn back or with the taxi or by foot on road n. 5 to the Schnaggencross and further to Prösels.

An amazing adventure for everybody.

Duration: from 2 – 5 hours. ( it depends on the condition and the disposable time).

Musts: hiking boots, rainjacket, backpack, water bottle and suncream.
